The SC Legislative Black Caucus is concerned with the needs and plight of the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. In an attempt to assist with the current emergency efforts, we have implemented a SC - Haiti Earthquake Recovery Fund. This initiative will provide an opportunity for persons or organizations to contribute, monetarily or with specified items, to the people of Haiti. As part of the Recovery initiative, we are hosting a three-fold proposal to assist the ongoing efforts to rebuild Port-Au-Prince and surrounding areas.
These long-term commitments will be accomplished by collecting contributions and forwarding them through the appropriate channels for distribution. These relief organizations are presently providing onsite assistance in Haiti and are accepting much needed donations online.
